Botox/Dysport

The gold-standard treatment for skin tightening, collagen rebuilding, and lasting skin transformation. Powered by the LUVO Prolift Dual at Healix Medical Spa.

Downtime

None. Back to your day immediately.

Duration

15–30 minutes, including assessment

Best for

Forehead lines, frown lines, lines around the eyes

Results

First changes at 3–5 days, settled at two weeks, holding 3–4 months

If the lines between your brows have started to stay put after your face relaxes, that isn't your imagination. Expression lines begin as movement. Over years of the same movement, they set into the skin.

Botox and Dysport work upstream of that. Both are neuromodulators they temporarily quiet the specific muscle doing the repeated folding, which lets the skin above it soften and stop being creased in the same place every day.

The difference is in the placement. Dose and injection points are mapped to your muscle pattern, not to a template enough to soften the line, not so much that your face stops moving. Our clinic sits at 2100 Bloor St W in Bloor West Village, a few minutes from High Park, Roncesvalles, Swansea and the Junction.

Benefits You’ll Love

Softens Lines Made by Movement
Forehead lines, the vertical "11s" between the brows, and lines fanning from the outer eye all come from repeated muscle contraction. Relaxing that muscle lets the skin above it settle and smooth.

Keeps Lines From Setting In
Lines that are still dynamic visible only when you move respond faster and more completely than lines already etched at rest. Treating consistently slows the point at which one becomes the other.

Precision Dosing, Preserved Expression
Your injector maps units to your anatomy: brow strength, asymmetry, how you actually move. Conservative dosing on a first visit, adjusted from there. The goal is a softer line, not a still face.

Nothing to Plan Around
Fifteen to thirty minutes, no numbing required for most areas, no recovery period. Small red marks settle within a few hours. You can be treated on Bloor St W and back at your desk the same afternoon.

Cosmetic areas we treat with Botox at Healix

Forehead Lines

Horizontal lines across the forehead from raising the brows. Treated conservatively here the frontalis carries brow position, so over-relaxing it is what creates a heavy look.

Frown Lines (the 11s)

The two vertical lines between the brows. The most-requested area, and the one clients most often describe as making them look tense or annoyed when they aren't.

Lines Around the Eyes

The fine lines fanning outward from the outer corner with smiling and squinting. Treated to soften, not erase this area reads as expression, and removing it entirely looks wrong.

Bunny Lines

The crinkles across the bridge of the nose that appear when you smile or scrunch. A small correction, often noticed once the frown lines above have already been treated.

Chin Dimpling

The pebbled "orange peel" texture on the chin caused by an overactive mentalis muscle. A few units smooth the surface without affecting how you speak or eat.

Masseter / Jaw Clenching

Relaxing the masseter reduces clenching and grinding tension and, over repeated treatment, softens a heavily squared jaw. Often booked for the tension as much as the contour.

What to expect during your treatment at Healix

step 1

Assessment

Our injector watches your face at rest and in motion where you fold, how strong each muscle is, what's already set versus still dynamic. Medical history, current medications and any previous neuromodulator treatment are reviewed here. You leave with a unit plan you've agreed to, not a surprise.

Step 2

Treatment

Skin is cleansed and injection points are mapped. A series of brief pinches through a fine needle, typically ten to fifteen minutes of actual injecting. Most first-time clients say afterward that they'd expected worse.

step 3

Review at Two Weeks

Results begin to show at three to five days and are fully settled at fourteen. That two-week mark is the only accurate point to assess the work, which is when your injector reviews it with you and refines anything that needs it.

Is Botox Injection right for you?

Most people treated here are adults who notice lines that appear with expression — frowning, raising the brows, squinting — and increasingly stay visible after the face relaxes. Lines that are still dynamic respond most completely. Lines already etched at rest will soften rather than disappear, and are often better addressed alongside RF Microneedling or dermal filler, which work on the skin and volume rather than the muscle beneath.

Botox is not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active skin infection at the injection site, with a known allergy to any botulinum toxin preparation, or with certain neuromuscular conditions without medical clearance. If you take blood thinners or bruise easily you can usually still be treated, with a higher chance of temporary bruising — raise it at your consultation.

If your main concern is pigmentation rather than movement lines, a neuromodulator isn't the right answer — Cosmelan and pigmentation correction address that directly. Your free consultation will tell you that plainly.

What to expect before, during, and after your Botox appointment

Before. Where possible, avoid alcohol and non-essential blood-thinning supplements — high-dose fish oil, vitamin E, aspirin — for 24 to 48 hours, which reduces the chance of bruising. Arrive with a clean face or expect to have makeup removed from the treatment area.

During. The area is cleansed and injection points marked against your facial assessment. You'll feel several brief pinches through a fine needle. Total chair time is typically 15 to 30 minutes including aftercare review; a first appointment runs longer to allow for full assessment.

After. Stay upright for four hours. No rubbing or massaging the treated area for 24 hours. Skip strenuous exercise, hot yoga and saunas for 24 to 48 hours, and facials or facial massage for one to two weeks. Small red marks or tiny raised bumps at the injection points are normal and settle within a few hours. Pinpoint bruising is possible and resolves within days. Mild headache in the first day or two is occasionally reported.

Preparing for your first Botox treatment at Healix

  • Arrive a few minutes early to complete medical intake without rushing
  • Come with a clean face, or expect makeup to be removed from the area
  • Bring your questions units, expected result, what happens if you don't love it
  • Disclose all medications and supplements, including blood thinners
  • Tell us your timeline if you have an event coming

If you have a wedding, photoshoot or anything you're being looked at closely for, book your first treatment three to four weeks ahead. That allows the result to fully settle and leaves room for refinement at your two-week review.

If needles make you uneasy, say so when you book. Topical numbing or ice can be arranged in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Botox cost in Toronto?

Botox is priced per unit, and the number of units needed depends on the area treated, your muscle strength and your treatment history — which is why a flat figure isn't a useful answer before anyone has looked at your face. At your free consultation your injector assesses the area, recommends a unit count, and confirms the exact total with you before any treatment goes ahead. Nothing is charged that you haven't agreed to first.

How soon will I see results?

Softening begins around day three to five. The full effect is visible at fourteen days, which is when your injector reviews the result with you and refines anything that needs adjusting.

Will I look frozen?

Not the way we treat. Dosing is mapped to your muscle strength and kept conservative on a first visit, because it's straightforward to add at your two-week review and impossible to remove. The result should read as a softer line, not a still face.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe it as a brief pinch, a few seconds per point. Fine needles, slow injection. Topical numbing or ice is available if you'd prefer it ask when you book.

How long does it last?

Three to four months for most facial areas. Treating consistently tends to extend that over time, as the muscle gradually reduces the strength of the habit. Leaving long gaps between treatments resets that progress.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Frequently. Botox addresses lines caused by movement; it doesn't change skin texture, pigmentation or volume. Where more than one concern is present, your consultation will map the sequence and the spacing between treatments.

What's the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Both are Health Canada–approved neuromodulators with the same underlying mechanism. Dysport tends to onset slightly faster and diffuses a little more, which suits broader areas such as the forehead; Botox is more concentrated and precise. Units are not interchangeable between them. Your injector will recommend one based on your anatomy and the area being treated.

Where can I get Botox near High Park or Roncesvalles?
